Courtney Pearson

Hi, I’m Courtney!

I’m a counsellor and psychotherapist based in Geelong, Victoria. Like many of my clients, I hold many roles in life. I’m a mother, stepmother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. My path into this work was shaped by my own experience. For a long time, I focused on caring for others while ignoring my own emotional and mental wellbeing. Over time, this impacted my relationships and disconnected me from myself.

That realisation led me to pursue a career in counselling, with a strong focus on men’s mental health. I’ve seen how damaging it can be when men don’t feel able or safe to ask for support. My practice is here to help challenge that stigma and offer a space where men feel genuinely supported and respected.

I believe therapy is a form of self-care. It helps us manage stress, process trauma, understand our emotions and reconnect with our identity. It offers tools to cope with life’s challenges and space to reflect on what matters most.

My approach is psychodynamic, person-centred and trauma-informed. I draw from a range of therapeutic frameworks including psychoanalytic psychotherapy, narrative therapy, attachment-based therapies, emotion-focused therapy and strengths-based practices. I aim to provide culturally competent, ethical support grounded in empathy, safety and honesty.
